From Sri Sivaa Textiles to Vimayam

In 1995 Mr. K. C. Karunanithi began making pure silk dhotis and fabrics in Salem. In 2020 his son Anbalagan brought the business online as Vimayam — and today every dhoti, vasthiram and pooja cloth we make is in one place.

Questions, answered

What does 9+5 (9X5) mean?
It is the size in mulam — about 18 inches each: a 9-mulam dhoti with a 5-mulam towel, also called an angavastram. That is about a 4-metre dhoti and a 2.25-metre towel.
Is delivery free?
Yes — delivery is free across India. A piece in stock is dispatched the same day or the next day; a piece being prepared takes 3 to 7 working days before dispatch.
Can I return a dhoti?
Our products are not returnable, but we replace a piece that arrives damaged or defective, or a wrong item, colour, size or quantity. WhatsApp +91 93635 18480 with your order number.
Do you take bulk or temple orders?
Yes. Use the Bulk orders page or WhatsApp to tell us what you need and how many, and we will send you a price for the whole order.
How do I wash a silk dhoti?
Dry clean it, or rinse it gently in cold water and dry it in the shade. Store it wrapped in a cotton cloth, and iron on the reverse side of the zari.
